YPPF Parafield Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator

The Parafield Airport (YPPF) payware software installation for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (MSFS2020) is absolutely spectacular. If your looking true to life accuracy for your flight simulator, the YPPF airport installation certain has that covered.

A majority of my real life flight training in Australia took place out of YPPF between 1993 and 1994. I trained from student pilot through to Commercial License with a Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating. Having flown the Grob G115, the Tobago TB10 and the Duchess BE76 out of YPPF both VFR and IFR, I can assure you of the accuracy of this airport model. It is visually very accurate, including additions that did not exist when I flew here, such as the second set of parallel runways 26 and additional aircraft runup bays.

From what I have been able to determine, the only thing that seems to be missing is Bolivar strobe? Bolivar strobe is a flashing strobe light (even visible during daylight hours) located west of the airport. YPPF Tower would sometimes ask inbound aircraft to report abeam Bolivar strobe. Bolivar strobe might possibly be installed and I just missed it? I’ll need to check it out again when I get a chance.

Inbound VFR aircraft from the Northeast always report over the Dam Wall at 1,500 feet. The default scenery for the Parafield area includes the dams body of water, but not the actual Dam Wall. The YPPF scenery installation includes a model of the dam wall and it’s excellent. I cannot stress how many times I flew inbound over the Dam Wall at 1,500 feet.

The Parafield (YPPF) scenery installation is well worth the cost if you want to increase the level of realism for flight simulator activity in the Adelaide area of Australia.

For any flight student who is yet to commence or is currently flight training in YPPF, I would recommend installing the software so you can at least become familiar with the layout not only of the airport, but the entire airspace surrounding Parafield.
